Findings #2

Is text messaging causing an uprise in the percent of teens who drink, do drugs, and are involved in sexual activities? Obsessive texting and networking can lead to the life of drugs, alcohol, and sexual activities. 19.8 percent of teens surveyed said that send over 120 text messages a day. 11.5 percent of teens in the survey said that they were spending more than 3 hours a day on networks. As time progresses these teens are at higher risk to get involved with drugs, alcohol, and sexual activities. Also, hypertexting and hypernetworking can lead for teens to display tendencies towards obesity and eating disorders because these networks and texting can bring down their self esteem, making them have the erge to change and "fit in with the crowd." We may not realize how bad the affects of texting and networking are now but in the future as technology increases to its full potential, their may not be a way to change. ( farrel, nick.
